Thomas A. Hegland
I am an applied microeconomist at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. My primary research interests are in labor and health economics. My research has examined the efficacy of nursing home payroll subsidies and minimum staffing requirements for improving care quality, how health insurance and nominal wage rigidity interact during recessions, and heterogeneity in the fiscal multiplier by local economic conditions. I received my Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2019 and my B.A. from St. Olaf College.
